Recommendations for Miss Darlene:
Below are excerpts of recommendations prior to opening Teacher's Pet Pre-K from families I had worked with as a nanny and ESL tutor: (for current reviews of our program, please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/teacherspetri )
Family #1
"Exceptionally dependable, Darlene has been a consummate professional. Additionally, Darlene is unfailingly cheerful - our son's eyes light up when her car pulls into the driveway. It has made it much easier to leave our son with her each day.
What truly sets Darlene apart is her superior knowledge of child development, and her excellent observation skills. As new parents, it is extremely comforting to have a resource like Darlene, who is exceedingly knowledgeable about each stage of development that our son experiences. Darlene is consistently able to explain the various steps and stages that our son has gone through, and to point us toward additional information if required. She has often pointed out signs of impending development before we spotted them ourselves. On a daily basis she uses this knowledge of child development to design creative activities to assist and guide R's development, which we think has greatly aided his rapid development.
Darlene is a genuinely fantastic caregiver and tremendous asset to any child (and parents) with whom she works. We cannot recommend her highly enough - she is truly great!"
Family #2
"Darlene has been my daughter's caregiver since she was six months old. She has attended to her basic physical needs as well as worked to nurture her emotionally and develop her mind cognitively.
Darlene took the initiative to prepare and implement age appropriate arts and craft projects, working to develop hand-eye and fine motor coordination. During her time with my family, Darlene also successfully toilet trained M, which was no small feat, as well as carry out a few minor behavioral interventions to tackle some early childhood issues, such as hitting and sharing.
My family has thoroughly enjoyed working with Darlene. She has been professional and trustworthy in all aspects of this job. Darlene has demonstrated strong receptiveness to follow through with all of my wishes but speaks her mind openly when she has her own opinion. This quality of her personality is greatly appreciated.
Darlene also has shown initiative in looking up readings and additional resources to help broaden our knowledge and skills about various issues, including toilet training. Even among all these valuable qualities, most noteworthy is Darlene's unsurpassed enthusiasm and dedication to M. Darlene has truly given 100% of her efforts and herself. Her admirable work ethic and conscientiousness make me confident that she will succeed in any future endeavor she chooses.
Family #3
"Darlene has added tremendous value to my son's development by applying a broad understanding of childhood development knowledge and educational practices. Structure, preparedness, reliability, integrity, patience, sweetness, and a sense of humor are some of the many attributes Darlene has brought to this household.
We have been extremely pleased and fortunate to have Darlene in our home. She not only did a fantastic job with our son, but she also made my wife and I better parents to him as well.
It has been said that, "it takes a community to raise a child..."
It is with complete confidence that I can offer my recommendation to you to invite Darlene to become part of your community."
BES Educators:
I am pleased to write this recommendation for Darlene Gormly. She was hired to tutor students who attend schools in corrective action and taught English as a second language; reading and language arts in the cities of Fall River and New Bedford.
Ms. Gormly exhibited creativity, fairness, and a positive attitude with her students. She was able to engage students during their instruction without any problem. The student population in her small groups of 3 to 5 students came from diverse backgrounds. Throughout the program, her student attendance was high. In other words, Ms. Gormly's students enjoyed going to her classes, and her students have made significant gains from their pre and post testing.
I was excited to have had Ms. Gormly under our employment. Most of all, I was excited for the students with whom she worked, as they enjoyed learning and cooperatively working together.
